In the 1700’s when the United States were still the colonies, music was already being written in Mexico City in the tradition of European masters. The highlight of this program will be Mexican composer Ignacio De Jerusalem’s radiant Polychoral Mass in D Major written in 1750. Elegant and refined, it is some of the best music of its time.
