Our season began with the power of Brahms. So we top that with the Joy of Sibelius. His second symphony is one of the reasons Maestro Massey became a musician. The cumulative power and trill is irresistible. Earlier in the concert there is one of Liszt’s greatest orchestral works, and a piece written by Maestro Massey as a memorial after 9/11, Early Mourning. The sheer energy of the Russian Easter Overture starts it all.
