Description:
From John:
This show highlights some of my early work in 35mm film photography
starting with the grim destruction in Chicago following the death of Dr.
King in 1968. I follow that with the “hippie days” of 1970 when a Sly Stone
concert turned Grant Park into a riot scene. Other vintage B&W photos
resurrect the Chicago Stockyards and street scenes from Chicago and New
York.
My switch to digital photography re-awakened my creativity and expanded
“Through the Eyes of John Mazurek” to accurately, and in fine detail,
capture an image or to take some flights of fancy using the power of modern
technology. The second part of the show includes over 30 images of my
contemporary work.
I hope you can visit the Spectrum Gallery in Racine, WI for this show
featuring over sixty of my favorite photographs. The show will run weekends
in October from Noon to 5 pm. If you cannot attend, please visit my website
where I have a special link to the photos on display and related work as
well.
