About Racine County
Racine County is located on the shores of Lake Michigan in southeastern Wisconsin, 30 miles south of Milwaukee and 60 miles north of Chicago. The county is made up of two cities, seven villages and nine towns. I-94 links Racine Co. with Milwaukee, Madison, and Minneapolis to the West, and Chicago and Detroit to the East.
Racine Co. is the 6th smallest county in Wisconsin by size, at 333.1 square miles. With a population determined by the 2000 census to be 188,831 people. Racine Co. is the 5th most populous county in Wisconsin, and has the state’s third-highest population density at 566.9 people per sq. mile.
